Daniel Sam (England) vs Ismael lazaar (Morocco)

REPORT BY Roberto

Enfusion Live 19 took place on June 29th at the Eversley Centre in London, England. Once again, kickboxing fans where treated to an action packed night of fights that had it all; thrills, spills and a few upsets.

DANIEL SAM (C) VS. ISMAEL LAZAAR

The major upset of the evening came in the main event when Moroccan prospect Ismael Lazaar scored a stunning 3rd round KO of fan favorite and Enfusion Heavyweight Champion Daniel Sam. The fight started off slowly with both fighters seemingly taking a pensive approach when engaging with each other. In the opening two rounds the champion Sam couldn’t seem to get going with the 23-year old Lazaar using wild strikes in order to back up his opponent resulting in Sam countering with a few left kicks to the body and the odd knee in the clinch.

The end of the fight came at the beginning of round 3 as the Moroccan would connect with a devastating left-hook which sent Sam down to the canvas with the Englishman being unable to make it up in time for the referees count. Lazaar shocked the world and claim the Enfusion Heavyweight World Title.

WENDELL ROCHE (C) VS. ANDREW TATE

In the co-main even of the evening, American Andrew Tate would put on a fight of the night performance on the way to defeating Dutch kickboxing veteran Wendell Roche by 2nd round TKO (referee stoppage). From the opening bell Storm Gym’s Tate would set a blistering pace and in turn would control proceedings by softening Roche up with a stunning display of striking which included punishing body shots and knees in the clinch, as well as connecting with seemly laser sighted jabs, hooks and front kicks from the outside.

The end came in round 2 as Tate, who was scoring at will, brought the fight to and an end by connecting with a devastating combination of knees and punches to become the new Enfusion 90kg World Champion, adding the 4th world title to his collection.

BEST OF THE REST

In other action top prospect Ilias Bulaid scored an unanimous decision victory against Regis Sugden in an non stop, action packed encounter where both fighters displayed a wide array of striking skills, but it would be the Dutchman Bulaid, who recently signed a 25-fight deal with Enfusion who would come out on top by controlling the center of the ring and constantly have Sugden on the back foot throughout their encounter.

In women’s action, 24-year-old Hoyer’s Gym fighter Sheena Widdershoven would completely dominate her clear out matched but game opponent Lauran Huxley. The end would come at the end of round 1 when Huxley’s corner felt she could no longer continue, and called a halt to the fight before the start of round 2.

Also on the card, Simon Santana would defeat Jose Varela with a 1st round TKO and local favorite Charlie Peters would become the first man to defeat Ervin Wongsodimedjo with an impressive 2nd round KO.
