Vuyisile Collossa

Vuyisile Colossa (South Africa)
Colossa has made a big name for himself giving Yodsanklai Fairtex a hard fight and could be the dark horse of Enfusion 2010, Test of the Champions.

Vuyisile "The Cheetah" Colossa (born 28 June 1982) is a professional South African Middleweight Kick boxer. He represents Team Versus and is currently residing in Hong Kong.

In 1996, he started his high school career at Leseding Technical School where he was chosen to be in the first baseball team and cricket team, as well as the second basketball team. In addition, he was also a reserve for the second rugby team. In 1997, Vuyisile went to THS and was chosen to be in the first hockey team. He was also a member of the athletics team and reserve for third rugby team.

In 1998, he started participating in kickboxing. This new and exciting sport brought out the real champion in Vuyisile. He was awarded third place in the Free State championships and was invited to join the South Africa first team. He won a bronze medal in the SA Fighting Championships.

In 1999, he won the BIG Five Championships and became second in the Free State Championships. He achieved a second place in the 2000 SA championship. In 2001, he became third at SA trails in Pretoria and was awarded his national colours. He was chosen to represent South Africa in Vienna, Austria.

In 2002, Vuyisile received the Premier’s Youth Award in Bloemfontein. He was honoured by the department of Sport, Arts, Culture, Science and Technology for his exceptional achievement in the field of sport. In the same year, he became professional while winning his first two titles: the South African Full Contact Kick Boxing Title and the Ring Contact Fighting Art International Welter Weight Kickboxing Champion Title.

In 2003 he was crowned as the South African Professional Kick Boxing Council champion, Thai Boxing Champion as well as the runner-up for W.A.K.O Pro World Title. In December that year he attained his first Degree black belt in Ring Contact Fighting Art.

Furthermore, in 2006, he was the runner-up of the King of the Ring World Title. He is now up to make his debut in the K-1 Fighting Network Arena.

Enfusion:

For me as a fighter “Enfusion 2010, The Test of the Champions” is the most challenging and exciting programme to participate. When you think fighting is only being in the ring with your opponent, you’re wrong! In the Enfusion show, we all first had to become friends before we had to compete each other. As an athlete you usually become friends after a fight or competition, so that part made this competition much more challenging.
Enfusion made it possible to get to know other fighters and to train and work as a team, though fighting isn’t a team sport. Being exposed to camera’s all day long, staying calm and do not show your nervousness for the upcoming bout with you opponent, keep remaining focussed… It’s all tough but really exciting!!!

For an athlete’s career, Enfusion is the most important programme to show your skills and talent. It also gave me an opportunity to connect with different promoters, and a chance to be discovered by It’s Showtime’s talent scouts. For me, participating in this show has given me a big opportunity to stimulate my career as a fighter and the possibility to fight in more big events! The exposure of the Enfusion Show will be so big; bigger than any event I ever have been starring in.

As fighters we all desire success in our sport. I believe that after the world has seen this show, that success will be possible. I hope my dream will come true after Enfusion. My first goal is to compete in It's Showtime!! After that the K-1 World Max...... I hope my participation in Enfusion will give me the possibility to make that happen.
