Luukkanen’s reputation is pure toughness, not an easy fight for anyone.

I got attracted to martial arts when I was a little child. Me and other boys used to practise every day by ourselves and we did our best to kick and punch like our heroes. I tried some Kung fu back in the day, but it was not before my late teens when I started really systematic training. I went to MB-Center (a.k.a. Turku Thaiboxing Club) and loved the sport right from the beginning. During the first years every sparring session was near to full contact with Muay Thai world champions like Vesa Puranen and Riku Immonen, and although it was quite hard at times, it was good education for the future. After one year of training I took my first fight and after that fought whenever and whoever it was possible. There was no money at all and I lost some fights to more experienced guys, but I kept going on. After few years I started to get international fights and fought with opponents from Czech Republic, Sweden, France, Armenia, Luxembourg, Poland, Denmark, Russia and so on. I am Nordic champion and three times Finnish champion and now I’m looking for the bigger rings.

I respect all good fighters, but what impresses me the most are mentally strong ones. Sakmongkol, Wangchannoi and Bovy, just to name a few hard boiled champions. They are kind of fighters who can take a beating, but still come back strong and eventually win the bout. Skill and will combined, that’s inspiring!

Being a contestant in Enfusion was a great opportunity for me to get international attention. Meeting other dedicated people, having good time with them, training with them and finally fighting some of them was absolutely unique. I got tremendous support from my team members, family and friends, which helped a lot on my way… To cut a long story short: Enfusion was the best experience in my career so far!
